Do you read what you write, over and over again?

So in posts or threads (or even other things like texts or e-mails), do you re-read what you've written, over and over again to check for mistakes, or just to remind yourself of what you wrote 5 minutes before!?

I'm really bad at doing this. I can read the same post/thread I've written like 3 times before I post it, but even after I post it, I'll read it again and if I stumble across the same thread like half an hour later, I'll read it again. I think I'm mad. :whoa:

Pandemonium haha  Glad I'm not the only one! It's good to be proud of your work, even if it's just your responses on a forum!

I re-read everything I write constantly :x
Especially if I'm worried about what I said or if I'm proud of it.

I do that a lot, probably too much.
Sometimes I read over and worry about my posts before I post them so much that I just talk myself out of posting them at all :p

Same here. I read and re-read my commments and the things that I write. If there are mistakes, I edit them no matter how old my posts are. I just can't help re-reading my works because I don't like to offend people or give misleading information.

OMG, YES! English is not my native language and I tend to get paranoid and feel like I messed up everything I wrote... xD; But I triple-check my Hungarian stuff too, lol.

Well, as a writer its something that I have got in the habit of doing. Especially when writing articles or books. But when it comes to reading what I post, I have to admit that I tend not to be a much of an editor when doing this. Oh I will reread what I post, but I know that what I am doing is voicing my opinion or adding to a discussion, so I just need to make sure that I am conveying my message correctly. I also try to make sure that I am using good grammar and spelling as well. So, I guess I do take the time to read my post, so yes I do read what I write, I guess its just a habit I have gotten into as a writer.

Not really. If I do read back on things I wonder what the hell I was on about most of the time. I do have to read back texts though because I always forget what I said :o

Not so much - I only really looked over my college dissertations in the past, but I still read over them sometimes to remind myself of my writing style and almost reminisce on my past. I'm not too fussed how I appear to people on the internet in most cases, or through text as they know who I am and what I'm like. E-mails I will read over twice at most, but only to make sure I haven't repeated myself and have structured my sentences correctly. It's more other people's writing that I'll re-read, just to ensure I gather the right meaning from the message they've sent/posted. I've still managed to interpret it wrong a few times - it's quite amazing how a comma in a different place/a different word/etc. can change the entire meaning of a message haha.

I do, however, have to re-read certain texts within five minutes of sending it as my memory is terrible when it comes to things that. Oh, and when I've had a few to drink I will occasionally re-read my texts before sending them - but the people I'd really be interested in texting are normally with me at the time, so it's not too necessary as I try to avoid texting people when I'm socialising.

I usually don't, but I'm on improving my posts. When I do re-read my posts, I frequently have grammatical errors, pretty small, but very noticeable. Now, I tend to do a check before actually posting. Even one letter can make a huge difference.

I always read what i write over and over. You never know if you can change something to make whats written better. Especially when writing things such as resumes or emails. Always good to proofread.

I hate being ridiculed for errors in my write up and as a result of this, I go over everything over and over again. I even go to the extent of asking a friend to proof read it for me before I will read it for the last time before having the content submitted.

As a writer, one must always write, re-read, and rewrite. These things are done to check spelling, grammar, and context.
Most times, we find out that even with being careful, we still make mistakes.
As for me, I write, read, re reading, re write, and write again

When I am posting on forums, I do not read over and over. When I am writing casual emails and messages, I do not read again and again, however, when I am writing business emails, sending messages to clients, or writing blog posts, I read again and again.
