Almost all foods have additives in them, hams , bacon, all that processed meat have kilos of stuff added to them to make them what they are, Cool drinks, soda type drinks , everything. Is it necessary? Are we being slowly poisoned because of them?
considering people are starting to live to age 100 I don't think its too poisonous. Though everything in moderation, even too much water would be bad for a person.
I saw a article on the news where they were saying that it is bad to eat bacon. Granted there are lot of science news about what is bad and what is not. Some of it is scare tactics cause later on they say that it was wrong.
There is a a lot of additives tho in hams, i used to work in a meat processing factory and saw how much there was, it was really quite sickening
I will continue to eat bacon....at least I will die happy.
Anyway, it's all in moderation. You cannot eat all these chips and red meat and everything all the time and then blame the additives because you're sick or dieing early. Eat things in moderation, eat fresh fruits and veggies and stay healthy and you'll be fine.
But @Mozzie, are you implying that these pieces of information regarding the bacon's unhealthy factors don't torment you into becoming a vegetarian? I would imagine your experiences in the factory would have changed your view on meats entirely.
It's not poisonous, but it's horrible for you to eat because you are eating something that is completely unnatural; it is not what the human stomach evolved to eat. We'd all be better off if we, as a society, didn't each as much processed foods as we do now.
