I don’t have a favourite pencil brand and have never really given it much thought. Unless you’re a professional I’d say most people probably stick to whatever they have lying around. To be honest I wouldn’t know what is a good brand and what isn’t haha! A pencil is a pencil to me!
Koh-I-Noor makes awesome woodless pencils! I recommend having at least an 3H, an HB and a 4 or 6B. H are the hard pencils and the graphite coming from it will appear soft and light. The B pencils are very soft and you'll get your darker darks that way. With a regular #2 pencil, you won't get the same dimension if you don't have a B pencil to add in those darks.
